John C. Babione
Senior Counsel

John devotes much of his practice to defending medical device manufacturers involved in large-scale litigation.  His experience includes handling federal, state and multi-district medical device and prescription drug litigation.

John also has substantial experience defending manufacturers, premises owners, and contractors in complex, multi-party toxic tort litigation in both state and federal court.  He has defended claims involving a variety of chemicals and toxins including  asbestos, silica, and coal tar pitch.  In addition, John has experience handling environmental and insurance coverage  litigation arising from contaminants such a polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), petroleum, and mold.

John has defended clients in a wide range of other civil cases, including products liability, warranty claims, premises liability, and motor vehicle collision cases.  He has experience trying cases and also resolving claims through alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. 

Prior to law school, John gained regulatory compliance experience working for a company that provided hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal services.
